Tissues are groups of cells with specialized structural and functional roles. The four major types of human tissue are epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous. By the end of this unit you will be able to distinguish between the different types of tissues and describe the general characteristics of each. You will also learn terminology specific to each tissue type and the functions of each.
